Itinerary
Day 1

Kaprun, Austria, Europe

Travel to Munich

Depart on our direct flight from Dublin to Munich. On arrival we will be met by our tour leader and our local tour guide and transferred by coach to our hotel. Accommodation is on a half board basis.

Day 2

Day at Leisure

A free day to explore the surrounding area of Kaprun and nearby the lake resort of Zell am See. Kaprun is a lovely village overlooked by the Kitzteinhorn Glacier. The main street, W.Fazakas Strasse, is an area where you will find shops, banks, restaurants, bars, and the tourist office. Over the years our clients have loved their stay in this beautiful village with its dramatic setting.

Day 3

Salzburg, Austria

Day Excursion to Salzburg

After breakfast we will depart on a full day excursion to Salzburg, situated on the south bank of the Salzach river, Salzburg is a Baroque fiesta of churches, plazas, courtyards, and fountains. The city is best known for Austria’s famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. His birthplace and house are museums of his life and works. Museums, houses, squares, chocolate bars and liqueurs are all part of one giant homage to Mozart. The Getreidegasse is a lively shopping street adorned with wrought iron signs which provide a picturesque touch. During the tour, our Tour Leader will guide us to the renowned Mirabell Palace and Gardens. This exquisite location served as a backdrop for some of the most memorable scenes from The Sound of Music.

We return to our hotel in the late afternoon giving you plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere of this beautiful city.

Day 4

Day at Leisure

Today is a free day. Why not enjoy it by making the most of the stunning alpine landscapes with a visit to the Top of Salzburg at the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier! Using your Summer Card, you’ll have access to the cable cars that transport you up to 3,029 meters above sea level, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Austrian Alps.

Day 5

Krimml Waterfalls

After breakfast we will depart on a full day excursion to the Krimml Waterfalls, the highest waterfalls in Europe. A hiking trail built by the Austrian Alpine Association makes it possible to get very close to this breathtaking nature spectacle, affording sensational views. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and the impressive power of the water amidst the gorgeous scenery of the Hohe Tauern National Park. This is nature at its best.

A free day to spend at your leisure.

Day 7

Grossglockner & Heiligenblut

Begin our day in Kaprun by setting out for the scenic Grossglockner High Alpine Road, one of the most iconic drives in Austria. This remarkable route winds through the Hohe Tauern National Park, taking us from lush valleys to breathtaking alpine vistas. As we ascend, stop at designated viewpoints like Fuscher Törl, where panoramic views over mountain peaks and glaciers await. Enjoy the fresh air and take time to appreciate the unique alpine flora and fauna.

Continue driving towards a highlight of the journey: the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe, an observation area overlooking Austria’s highest peak, the Grossglockner, and the Pasterze Glacier. This area has a visitor centre with educational exhibits and several viewpoints that offer stunning photo and walking opportunities.

Then a visit to the picturesque village of Heiligenblut with its historic and beautiful Gothic church is yet another of the day’s many highlights.
We head back to Kaprun in the early evening, completing the day with unforgettable memories of Austria’s highest mountain and breathtaking alpine landscapes.

Day 8

Free time in Munich then return flight home

After breakfast we check out of the hotel. Please ensure that you have all your belongings with you. We will depart Kaprun and head to Munich city where we will have free time to explore. Munich is a vibrant city with a rich history, beautiful architecture and so much more.

We then head to Munich airport for our return flight home.
