Just as I thought, most of you. We’re all looking to travel again so when booking your next trip abroad, whether it be a holiday or flight, make sure you use an Irish licensed Travel Agent or Tour Operator, if they don’t have a license you’re not protected, it’s as simple as that.
When you use an ITAA Travel Agent, you are using a company that is regulated by the Commission for Aviation Regulator which ensures that your money is secure and protected.
If you use an unlicensed travel provider and run into trouble, you’re out of luck and you are not protected.
A Travel Agent or Tour Operator is required to display their license at their place of business and on their website and must produce this upon request.

Booking a Holiday? – Am I Protected?
If it is a business from outside the EU, insolvency protection Must be provided to the Commission for Aviation Regulator (CAR) for packages and Linked Travel Arrangements sold in the Republic of Ireland. So if you are booking with a company that is situated outside the EU for example; from the United Kingdom, Norway, USA etc, and they have not provided insolvency protection to CAR you are not protected.
