Ca’n Pastilla is the nearest purpose-built resort to both the capital city of Palma and the international airport of Son Sant Joan on the south coast of Mallorca. It is a great location for a family-friendly beach holiday but has much more to offer.
The little church of Sant Antonio de la Playa sits in a square at the heart of this bustling resort and is probably one of the only areas which retains the authentic Mallorcan origins of this town. Can Pastilla also known as ‘C’an Pastilla’ was developed from a single hotel project in 1918 by the entrepreneur D. Bartolome Riutort who built the original Hotel Can Pastilla. The town later developed as a firm favourite with British ex-pats and tourists from the 1960’s and is very much a resort. This is the place for a traditional bucket and spade holiday with plenty of British themed bars and cafes alongside more traditional Spanish venues. Located directly next to Arenal, Ca’n Pastilla is part of a long stretch of resorts which merge along the coast.
