Itinerary
1Arrival in Belgium and Welcome Dinner+
Your journey begins at Dublin Airport for your direct flight to Brussels. Upon arrival, you will be met by your tour leader and local guide before travelling by coach to your 4-star hotel in Bruges. After checking in, you will have the afternoon free to enjoy lunch at a local café or begin exploring the cobbled streets at your own pace. In the evening, the group will gather for a welcome dinner, providing an opportunity to get to know your fellow holidaymakers from Ireland.
2Discovering the Bruges Ghent tour with a Canal Cruise+
Today features a guided walking tour of Bruges, starting at 't Zand Square. You will visit St Saviour’s Cathedral, the 83-metre Belfry, and the historic Market Square, which served as a filming location for the movie ‘In Bruges’. The tour continues to Jan van Eyck Square and Burg Square, home to the Gothic City Hall. You will also see the historic Fish Market and the Minnewater, often called the Lake of Love. The morning ends with a 30-minute cruise along the city's famous canals. The afternoon is free for you to sample Belgian chocolates or visit a traditional café.
3A Guided Exploration of Historic Ghent+
After breakfast, you will travel by coach to Ghent for a guided walking tour. You will walk along the Graslei and Korenlei quays to see the guild houses and the city's three famous towers: St Nicholas’ Church, the Belfry, and St Bavo’s Cathedral. The route takes you past the City Hall and the Dulle Griet, an enormous 15th-century iron cannon. You will also explore the Patershol district, known for its medieval character, and visit the courtyard of the House of Alijn before finishing at the Castle of the Counts. You will have free time for lunch and shopping before returning to Bruges.
4Farewell to Bruges and Return Flight+
Enjoy a final morning at leisure in Bruges to revisit your favourite spots or enjoy a fresh Belgian waffle. At the scheduled time, you will be transferred to Brussels Airport for your return flight to Dublin.
