Dumfries

To begin, on the first day, we’ll depart by executive coach from your local pick-up point and travel to Belfast via Dublin to catch the afternoon ferry service to Cairnryan. Following a lunchtime stop in Newry, we’ll board the luxurious Stena Superferry for a 2-hour crossing to Cairnryan. Subsequently, we’ll head to our hotel in Dumfries, passing through the stunning unspoiled Scottish Border countryside.

Edinburgh

Then, the second day will take us to the beautiful city of Edinburgh. We’ll enjoy a tour before you have the rest of the day to explore on your own. Afterwards, we’ll return to the hotel for dinner and relaxation.

English Lake District

Next, on the third day, we’ll head to the breathtaking English Lake District. We’ll stop for lunch at Lake Windermere and visit Lake Grasmere and Lake Thirlmere before stopping in the historic border village of Gretna Green. Later, we’ll return to the hotel for dinner.

Glasgow

On the fourth day, we’ll travel to Glasgow, Scotland’s city of culture, before we take the high road to the beautiful banks of Loch Lomond. Finally, we’ll return to the hotel for another fine Scottish dinner.

Lastly, on the final day, you’ll have some free time to explore the delights of Dumfries. With its magnificent red sandstone buildings and pedestrianized shopping centre, there’s plenty to see and do here.”

Day 1

Ferry Belfast to Cairnryan

We’ll depart by executive coach from your local pick-up point and make our way to Belfast via Dublin. After a lunchtime stop in Newry, we’ll board the luxurious Stena Superferry for a 2-hour crossing to Cairnryan. Once we arrive, we’ll embark on a scenic drive to our hotel in Dumfries, located in the beautiful unspoiled Scottish Border countryside.

Day 2

Edinburgh, Scotland

On Day 2, kick off the day with a hearty Scottish breakfast before embarking on a breathtaking mountain drive to the stunning city of Edinburgh. The Irish are always welcomed with open arms in this beautiful city, and after a tour, you’ll have the rest of the day to explore on your own. In the evening, we’ll return to the hotel for dinner and relaxation after a memorable day.

Day 3

Lake Windermere, England

On Day 3, start your day with breakfast before setting off to explore the breathtaking English Lake District. Our lunchtime stop will be at the largest lake in the region, Lake Windermere, where you’ll have free time to shop or perhaps take a leisurely boat trip. After our break, we’ll continue on through Lake Grasmere and Lake Thirlmere before stopping in the historic border village of Gretna Green, where you’ll have the opportunity to tie the knot with a traditional ceremony performed by the local blacksmith. In the evening, we’ll return to our hotel for dinner.

On Day 4, we’ll start the day off right with a delicious breakfast before making our way to Bonnie Scotland’s city of culture, Glasgow. Here, we’ll take a tour of this magnificent city, marveling at its rich history and vibrant culture. After our tour, we’ll hit the road again, taking the high road to the beautiful banks of Loch Lomond, known for its stunning natural beauty. In the evening, we’ll return to our hotel for another fine Scottish dinner.

Day 5

Dumfries, Scotland

Belfast, Northern Ireland

Homeward Bound

On Day 5, you’ll enjoy a final hearty Scottish breakfast before having some free time to explore the charming town of Dumfries. With its magnificent red sandstone buildings and pedestrianized shopping centre, there’s plenty to see and do here. If you’re interested in history, consider visiting St. Michael’s Kirk where the famous Scottish poet Rabbie Burns is buried. Our lunchtime stop will be in the coastal town of Stranraer, after which we’ll catch the afternoon sailing from Cairnryan to Belfast. As always, please note that this is our planned itinerary but circumstances may occasionally require us to make slight changes.
