Itinerary
Day 1

Bergen, Norway

We depart Dublin airport for our direct flight to Bergen. Upon arrival we will be welcomed by our tour leader. We have a short transfer to our hotel and you will then have the evening free to settle in and explore your surroundings.

Day 2

Bergen, Norway

Walking tour of Bergen

Today we will explore Bergen City with our private guide. Roam through the charming streets and enjoy the beauty and blended mixture of medieval and modern architectural history.

The tour includes the iconic UNESCO-listed Bryggen Wharf, where colourful Hanseatic buildings line the waterfront. Meander through the narrow alleyways of Bergen’s Old Town, a labyrinth of medieval charm. As you walk, your guide will share anecdotes about the city’s medieval roots, and the cultural heritage that makes Bergen truly unique.

Take the Fløibanen Funicular, an essential Bergen experience and a must see for all visitors. The Funicular will take you from downtown to the top of Mount Floyen in just six minutes where panoramic views of the city and its surroundings await. There is a restaurant, cafeteria and a souvenir shop. Meet the goats or try the delicious homemade local treats.

We will return to the hotel in the afternoon and you will have the rest of the day free to explore a little more of Bergen.

Day 3

Myrdal, Norway

Flåm, Norway

Flåmsbana and Fjord Cruise

Today our guide will take us on a full day of adventure. Mid morning we will depart from our hotel and take the train to Myrdal where we will change for the historic Flåmsbane Railway. The Flåm Railway has been described as one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world.

Over the course of one hour, the train takes you from sea level at the Sognefjord in Flåm to 867 metres above sea level. The Flåm Railway is one of the steepest standard gauge railway lines in the world. The train runs through spectacular scenery, and offers so many viewpoints that, for many people, a single trip up and down is not enough. The train ride takes you past the wild and beautiful Kjosfossen waterfall. The train stops here so passengers can get some air, enjoy the view and photograph the mighty waterfall.

We will stop for a packed lunch from the delicious Flam Bakery, renowned for its cinnamon buns and hot chocolate.

After lunch we will embark on our Fjord Cruise. A Fjord Cruise is one of the most magical experiences you can have, especially in a country like Norway where the fjords are some of the most breathtaking natural wonders on Earth. Every season leaves its own unique touch on the fjord landscape, giving a golden terrain with fresh and clear air during the autumn.

With large windows and walkways, passengers are encouraged to go out on the top deck and enjoy a very different experience compared to traditional passenger vessels. Inside you will find Nordic-inspired interior design offering a high level of comfort. After the cruise, in the late afternoon we will transfer back to our hotel where, after a busy day, you will have the evening free to relax.

Day 4
