Netherlands, Germany, and Luxembourg-A scenic view of the vineyards and riverbanks during an Amsterdam Moselle river cruise.

This 8-day Amsterdam Moselle river cruise is a thoughtfully organised journey that takes Irish holidaymakers through some of Europe’s most storied landscapes. Your adventure begins in Amsterdam, where the city’s UNESCO-protected canals and historic gabled houses set a charming tone for the trip. Travelling aboard the five-anchor MS Symphonie, you will experience a perfect blend of rich heritage, natural beauty, and relaxed travel. This river cruise is designed for those who appreciate the finer details of history and the art of living well, all while following the gentle flow of two iconic waterways.

As we leave the Netherlands, the route transitions from the expansive industrial history of the Rhine to the spectacular, castle-studded hillsides of the Romantic Rhine Valley. This section of the journey is particularly famous for its steep vineyards and medieval fortresses that overlook the river from every crag. The transition into the Moselle Valley brings a change of pace, where the river narrows and meanders through an intimate landscape of quaint wine-producing towns. You will have the opportunity to explore Cochem, often referred to as the pearl of the region, and enjoy authentic tastings of the area’s celebrated wines.

The itinerary also features significant cultural stops, such as Cologne with its towering Gothic cathedral and Trier, which holds the title of Germany’s oldest city. Walking through Trier is like stepping back into the Roman Empire, with remarkably preserved monuments like the Porta Nigra. The journey even includes a visit to the capital of Luxembourg, providing a truly comprehensive look at the heart of Western Europe. This is a value-conscious way to see multiple countries and historical sites without the need for constant packing and unpacking.

Life on board the MS Symphonie ensures that every need is met for our Irish guests. From refined French cuisine and a formal gala dinner to an all-inclusive drinks package, the experience is both comfortable and straightforward. You can stay connected with free Wi-Fi and benefit from the expert knowledge of the onboard entertainment team. Whether you are admiring the view from the deck or exploring a Roman ruin, this holiday offers a fantastic balance of organised excursions and peaceful time at sea, making it an excellent choice for a memorable and stress-free escape.
