Amalfi Coast Walking Holiday

This 7-night Amalfi Coast walking holiday is an excellent choice for active travellers who want to see Italy’s most famous coastline on foot. Operating as a fully guided Escorted Tour, this trip balances physical activity with rich historical exploration. We base ourselves in Castellammare di Stabia at the 4-star Hotel dei Congressi, which provides a comfortable and convenient location for reaching the region’s top sites. The hotel features a rooftop pool and a panoramic terrace, perfect for relaxing after a day on the trails.
The itinerary is designed for those who enjoy moderate exercise, featuring five distinct walking days. You can expect a mix of leisurely and moderate routes; leisurely walks typically range between 3km and 10km, while moderate days cover between 6km and 16km. Each walking day is supported by an expert local guide who will share the history and legends of the landscape, from the sirens of Punta Campanella to the Roman history of Pompeii.
One of the primary highlights of this Amalfi Coast walking holiday is the trek along the Path of the Gods. This trail is famous worldwide for its cliffside views and dramatic scenery overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. We also explore the island of Capri, walking to the striking Arco Naturale and seeing the Faraglioni rock formations from a unique perspective. History enthusiasts will particularly appreciate the day spent hiking the crater of Mount Vesuvius followed by a guided tour of Pompeii, where the effects of the 79 AD eruption are still clearly visible today.
Value is at the heart of this package. We include return flights, transfers, and half-board accommodation, plus five packed lunches to keep you fuelled during your hikes. Evenings are spent back at the hotel, where you will enjoy seven group meals, including a taste of local Italian cuisine at the hotel’s pizzeria. Beyond the walking, you will experience the local culture through a boat trip to Maiori and visits to the charming towns of Ravello and Positano. This is a straightforward, well-organised holiday that offers a deep dive into the natural beauty and ancient history of Southern Italy.
