Sardinia-A scenic view of the Bonifacio clifftops and turquoise sea during a Sardinia Corsica tour

This wonderful 7-night Escorted Tour is a fantastic choice for Irish holidaymakers looking to experience the unique charm of two Mediterranean islands in one trip. On this Sardinia Corsica tour, you will be based on the stunning northern coast of Sardinia, perfectly positioned to explore world-famous coastlines and historic towns. Your base for the week is the 4-star Hotel Blumarea, located in the peaceful village of Lu Bagnu. Just a short walk from the sea, this hotel offers a relaxed atmosphere, a swimming pool, and easy access to the local area via the bus stop right outside.

The itinerary is carefully planned to offer a mix of discovery and downtime. One of the highlights for our Irish guests is the visit to the Costa Smeralda. Known for its turquoise waters and glamorous ports, it is a truly spectacular part of the world. You will also spend time in Castelsardo, a medieval town famous for its traditional basket weaving and impressive castle. The tour takes you across the water for a full-day excursion to the French island of Corsica. Arriving in Bonifacio, you will see the dramatic white cliffs and the historic upper town, which you can explore comfortably on the ‘Petit Train’. It is a wonderful way to see the transition from Italian to French culture in a single day.

The Sardinia Corsica tour also includes a trip to the La Maddalena archipelago and Caprera Island. These areas are renowned for their natural beauty and crystal-clear waters. You will have the chance to see where the famous Italian figure Giuseppe Garibaldi lived while enjoying the unspoilt scenery. Another key stop is Alghero, often referred to as ‘little Barcelona’. With its Catalan heritage and honey-coloured sea walls, it is one of the most atmospheric cities on the island.

Throughout the trip, you will be accompanied by a dedicated tour manager who will ensure everything runs smoothly. We have also included two full days of leisure, allowing you to relax by the pool, wander into nearby Castelsardo, or simply enjoy a coffee by the seafront at your own pace. Dinner is included on five nights of your stay, served at a welcoming local restaurant just a short stroll from the hotel. This allows you to sample authentic local flavours in a traditional setting. Whether you are interested in history, scenery, or simply soaking up the Mediterranean sun, this holiday offers great value and a truly memorable experience for holidaymakers from Ireland.

Is there a local tourist tax in Sardinia?

Yes, many Italian local authorities charge a tourist tax. In this area, it is approximately 3 Euro per person per day, which must be paid directly to your accommodation.

Where are the evening meals served?

Dinner is included on five of the seven nights and is served at a nearby local restaurant located just a short walk from the Hotel Blumarea.

What happens if the ferry to Corsica cannot sail?
