Your journey begins with a flight from Dublin to Munich, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. St. Johann is a fantastic base, with its frescoed buildings and mountain backdrops. Itinerary
1Arrival in the Tyrol+
Depart Dublin for Munich on a direct flight. Upon arrival, you will be met by our resort manager and transferred to the Sporthotel Austria in St. Johann. After settling into your comfortable base, enjoy your first evening meal in the hotel restaurant.
2St. Johann Walkabout+
Get your bearings with an informative guided stroll through St. Johann. Learn about the history of this traditional Tyrolean village and see its many architectural highlights. The rest of the day is yours to explore the local shops or relax at the hotel.
3Lake Chiemsee & The Bavarian Palace+
Journey to Lake Chiemsee, known as the ‘Bavarian Sea’. After a boat trip across the water, enjoy a guided tour of Herrenchiemsee Palace, King Ludwig II’s grand tribute to Versailles. You will have free time to explore the island of Herreninsel or visit a traditional Bavarian beer garden.
4A Day of Leisure+
Enjoy a day at your own pace in St. Johann. You might choose to take the cable car up the mountain for spectacular views or simply enjoy the hospitality of the village's local cafes and restaurants.
5Kufstein & Rattenberg Traditions+
Explore the northern Limestone range as we visit Kufstein and its impressive fortress, home to the world's largest free-standing organ. The tour continues to Rattenberg, Austria’s smallest town, famous for its centuries-old glass-blowing craft, where you can see artists at work.
6Discovering Salzburg on your Austria Escorted Tour+
Visit the baroque city of Salzburg with a local guide. See the birthplace of Mozart and famous filming locations for The Sound of Music, including Leopoldskron Castle. Later, travel to the scenic lakeside town of St. Gilgen, overlooking the blue waters of Wolfgangsee.
7Final Day for Relaxation+
Your final full day is free to enjoy St. Johann. We recommend a visit to the Panorama Badewelt leisure centre, located just 15 minutes away, which features excellent indoor and outdoor pools and a dedicated spa area.
8Departure+
Transfer back to Munich airport for your return flight to Dublin.
