Itinerary
1Arrival in Malaga+
Upon arrival at Malaga airport, you will be met and transferred to the port to board Marella Discovery 2. Once settled in, you can begin your Iconic Iberia cruise by exploring the ship's facilities before we set sail.
2Relaxation at Sea+
Spend your first full day at sea enjoying the amenities of your ship. Whether you prefer lounging by the pool, visiting the spa, or trying out the rock climbing wall, there is plenty to keep you occupied as we head north toward the Atlantic coast.
3Vigo and the Galician Coast+
Today we dock in Vigo, home to one of Europe's largest fishing fleets. You can wander through the old town, known as Casco Vello, with its charming narrow streets and squares. For those interested in history, optional excursions are often available to the pilgrimage site of Santiago de Compostela.
4Leixões for Oporto+
From the port of Leixões, it is a short journey into Oporto. This historic city is famous for its cathedral and the Ribeira District. You might choose to visit a local wine cellar to sample the famous port wine or admire the traditional tiled buildings along the Douro River.
5-6Historic Cadiz+
We spend two days in the ancient port of Cadiz. This Andalucian city is known for its watchtowers and grand 18th-century cathedral. It is a fantastic place to enjoy a stroll along the waterfront or explore the local tapas bars in the old town centre.
7The Rock of Gibraltar+
Our final port of call is Gibraltar. This unique territory offers a blend of British and Mediterranean culture. You can visit the famous Barbary apes on the upper Rock, explore St. Michael’s Cave, or enjoy some tax-free shopping along Main Street.
8Departure from Malaga+
The ship returns to Malaga this morning. After breakfast, you will disembark and be transferred back to the airport for your return flight to Dublin.
