Adriatic Treasures

Join us on this wonderful Escorted Tour as we explore the stunning Dalmatian coastline of Croatia. This eight-day Adriatic Treasures tour offers a perfect balance of organised sightseeing and relaxing free time, based in the charming seaside town of Makarska. Known for its horseshoe-shaped bay and impressive mountain backdrop, Makarska provides a friendly and welcoming base for our stay. We have chosen the 4-star Hotel Park for your accommodation, where you will enjoy half-board meals, including breakfast and dinner each day, allowing you to sample local flavours without the hassle of searching for restaurants every evening.
Our journey begins with a direct flight from Dublin to Split, followed by a comfortable coach transfer to our hotel. One of the highlights of this trip is our full-day visit to Dubrovnik. Often called the pearl of the Adriatic, this historic city is famous for its massive 16th-century stone walls and marble streets. You will have plenty of time to walk through the Old Town and see the baroque buildings that make this city so unique. The drive along the coast to reach Dubrovnik is widely considered one of the most scenic routes in all of Europe, offering plenty of opportunities to admire the blue waters and scattered islands.
We also travel across the border into Bosnia and Herzegovina to visit Medjugorje. Regardless of your personal beliefs, this world-renowned pilgrimage site offers a peaceful atmosphere and a chance to see a different side of the Balkan region. Please remember to bring your passport for this day trip. Back in Croatia, our itinerary includes a visit to the ancient city of Split. Here, we explore the incredible Palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian, which dates back to the 4th century. Walking through the heart of Split feels like stepping back in time, as the modern city has grown organically within and around these ancient Roman remains.
Throughout the week, you will also have several days at leisure in Makarska. You might choose to stroll along the harbour, visit the local market stalls, or simply sit in a café and watch the fishing boats come and go. Our local guide and tour leader will be on hand to offer suggestions, perhaps recommending a boat trip to the nearby islands of Hvar or Brač for those who wish to explore further. This holiday is designed for travellers who appreciate a well-organised trip that does not feel rushed, focusing on the genuine culture and natural beauty of the region.
