Italian Dolomites Walking Holiday

This eight-day Escorted Tour is a fantastic choice for those who enjoy being active outdoors and wish to experience an Italian Dolomites walking holiday in a straightforward, well-organised manner. Based in the traditional village of Madonna di Campiglio, you will be staying in the heart of the Brenta Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its jagged limestone peaks and verdant alpine valleys. This holiday is specifically designed for travellers who appreciate natural beauty and clear, factual information about their journey.
The itinerary focuses on moderate hiking, with the local cable car network cleverly used to whisk you up to high-altitude plateaus. This means you can enjoy the most spectacular panoramic views across the peaks without the strain of a full mountain ascent. Over five dedicated walking days, you will follow a series of well-maintained trails through ancient larch forests, past glittering glacial lakes, and alongside some of the most dramatic waterfalls in the Italian Alps. Highlights include the famous ‘Waterfall Trail’ in Val di Genova and the historic Sissi’s Trail on Monte Spinale.
Accommodation is provided on a half-board basis, ensuring that your breakfast and evening meals are looked after, allowing you more time to relax after a day on the trails. Depending on your chosen year of travel, you will stay in either a 4-star or 5-star hotel in Madonna di Campiglio, a village that has long been a favourite retreat for those seeking fresh mountain air and peaceful surroundings. You will also have a full day at leisure to explore the local shops and cafes or perhaps take a relaxing gondola ride to a mountain hut for lunch.
As this is a moderate walking holiday, a reasonable level of fitness and previous experience on varied terrain is necessary. You should expect to be walking for three to six hours per day, covering distances between 8km and 14km with some rocky sections. With a local expert walking guide to lead every excursion and all transport pre-arranged, this tour offers exceptional value and peace of mind. It is a wonderful opportunity to experience the magnificent Italian Dolomites walking through landscapes that are widely considered some of the most beautiful in Europe.
