Turkey-The historic Hagia Sophia domes and minarets in Turkey, a highlight of our Istanbul escorted tour.

This professionally organised Istanbul escorted tour offers a fantastic opportunity for Irish travellers to explore a city where two continents meet. Istanbul is a place where the ancient history of the Byzantine and Ottoman empires lives alongside a bustling, modern metropolis. Over six days, you will be guided through the city’s most famous landmarks by expert local guides, ensuring a stress-free experience from the moment you depart Dublin on your direct flight.

Our journey is designed for those who appreciate comfort and value. We stay in a 4-star hotel located in the heart of the city, making it easy to reach the major sights. The itinerary includes a comprehensive tour of the Sultanahmet area, where you will see the domes of the Hagia Sophia and the stunning blue tiles of the Sultan Ahmed Mosque. Walking through the Ancient Hippodrome, you will feel the weight of centuries of history. We also include a visit to the Grand Bazaar, a sensory experience unlike any other, where you can put your bartering skills to the test among thousands of stalls selling everything from gold jewellery to aromatic spices.

One of the true highlights of this Istanbul escorted tour is the Bosphorus Cruise. As you sail along the strait that divides Europe and Asia, you will see a unique skyline of minarets, modern bridges, and historic waterfront palaces. We also take time to explore the quieter, more colourful side of the city in the Fener and Balat districts, where the pace of life feels a world away from the busy centre.

Your evenings are just as well-considered. From a welcome dinner that helps you settle in, to a grand finale at a traditional Turkish dinner show, the culinary side of the trip is a real treat. On the fifth day, you have the freedom to set your own pace, whether that means a leisurely lunch by the water or further sightseeing. With all transfers, a 23kg checked bag, and entrance fees included in the price, this holiday provides excellent value for money. This is an Escorted Tour that balances structured sightseeing with genuine local flavour, allowing you to discover the charm of Istanbul with the confidence of having a professional team looking after every detail.

We visit the magnificent Hagia Sophia, a building that has served as both a cathedral and a mosque over its 1,500-year history. We also explore the Ancient Hippodrome, where chariot races once entertained the masses, and the world-famous Blue Mosque, known for its intricate Iznik tilework. In the afternoon, we spend time at the Grand Bazaar, one of the largest covered markets in the world, with free time to browse for textiles, spices, and local crafts.

3
Colourful Neighbourhoods and a Bosphorus Cruise+

Our morning starts with a guided walk through the Fener and Balat districts. These areas are famous for their brightly painted Ottoman houses, cobbled streets, and multicultural heritage. In the afternoon, we take to the water for a Bosphorus Cruise. This relaxing journey allows us to see the city from a different perspective, passing palaces and waterfront mansions as we sail between the continents of Europe and Asia. The rest of the evening is yours to spend at your leisure.
