Itinerary
Tromso
Travel to Tromso
We depart Dublin on our direct flight to Tromso, Norway. On arrival we will be greeted by our tour leader and your local guide, who will accompany us throughout our journey. We then transfer by coach to our 4* Hotel in Tromso, where we will be based for the next four nights. The rest of the day is free to relax and enjoy your new surroundings. Tonight, we will enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel.
Fjellheisen & Arctic Cathedral
The day begins with bus transport to Fjellheisen, where you’ll take the cable car up to Storsteinen, 421 metres above sea level, for spectacular panoramic views over Tromsø. You’ll then visit the striking Arctic Cathedral, an iconic modern landmark renowned for its dramatic architecture and impressive glass mosaic. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walking tour of Tromsø, exploring the city’s history, culture and key sights as you learn why it is known as the “Gateway to the Arctic.” In the evening, set out on a private group Northern Lights chase by minibus, led by experienced aurora guides who tailor the route based on weather and sky conditions. Travelling through Arctic landscapes, you’ll stop for photos, enjoy warm drinks and snacks, and be provided with thermal suits for comfort.
Scenic Sommaroy – Arctic Costal Sightseeing
Enjoy a scenic Arctic coastal sightseeing tour to Sommarøy, one of northern Norway’s most picturesque islands, known for its white-sand beaches, turquoise waters and dramatic mountain backdrop. Travel from Tromsø along stunning coastal roads, with photo stops in Ersfjord and sweeping views through Kattfjorden, passing remote fishing communities and rugged fjord landscapes. On Sommarøy, lunch is included and you’ll then have some free time to explore the island, stroll along the beaches and capture the unique Arctic light. Warm drinks are available on board for comfort, and the return journey follows the scenic Ryøya route, completing this memorable half-day experience. You have the evening free to relax.
Day at Leisure
After a busy few days, you have a free day to yourself. You can explore the city at your own pace, with a stroll through the streets and a stop at a local café. You may opt to visit the Polar Museum and or the Polaria Arctic Experience Centre or avail of one of the local activities or excursions. It’s a perfect chance to soak up Tromsø’s unique Arctic atmosphere.
Depart Tromso and Fly Home
After breakfast we check out of our hotel and transfer to Tromso airport for our return flight to Dublin.
