Budapest, Hungary
Fly from Dublin to Budapest and on arrival in Budapest, meet your local guide for a private coach transfer to the 4* Alice Hotel, where you are booked for three nights on a bed & breakfast basis. Flights are with Ryanair and depart Dublin 08:25 and arrive Budapest 12:20. Please note that flight times can be changed at the airline’s discretion.
The hotel: 4* Alice Hotel – Alice Hotel is a boutique 4* city centre hotel, nestled near Heroes’ Square, and features a garden, terrace and bar. Transfer time is approximately 45 minutes.
After breakfast, join your local guide for a half-day tour of Budapest. This morning, visit the Buda side of the city and visit the Buda Castle district with its medieval streets, Mathias Church and the famous Fisherman’s Bastio. Admire the stunning Buda Castle district with its medieval streets, Mathias Church and the famous Fisherman’s Bastion. Admire the interior of Matthias Church with its beautiful stained glass windows and fantastic paintings, visit the tomb of King Béla III with his wife Anne de Châtillon and the altar where Sissi and her husband Franz Josef were crowned. The church bears the name of King Matthias Corvinus (1458-1490), who ordered the construction of the highest tower of the church. The Fisherman’s Bastion is one of the most famous structures in the city. It was built between 1895 and 1901 on the site of the demolished bailey wall. The seven conical turrets of the Fisherman’s Bastion symbolise the tents of the nomadic Magyar tribes who settled in Hungary in 896. The Bastion offers a beautiful panorama of the city.
Evening
In the early evening, a pre-concert 3-course dinner will be served in your hotel. After dinner, meet your local guide and fellow travellers for a coach transfer to the MVM Dome for a concert performance with category two tickets. At the end of the evening, the coach transfers back to the hotel. Concert start time: 20:00
After breakfast, join your local guide for a half day city of Budapest. This morning, visit the Pest side of the city and visit the Hungarian Parliament building. The Parliament building is located on the Danube and is one of Budapest’s most famous landmarks. The parliament was built between 1885 and 1902 along the Danube and was, for a time, the largest parliamentary building in the world. With 691 rooms and staircases stretching for more than 12 miles (20 kilometres), the building is topped by a dome that sits 226 feet (69 metres) high in the sky. Visit to the Parliament, with an audio guide. During your forty-five-minute audio, you will explore the building’s impressive interior, including the Session Room and the Great Vaulted Hall.
Breakfast in your hotel, and following breakfast, check out. Transfer to Budapest airport for the return flight. Flights are with Ryanair and depart Budapest at 20:20 (Please note that flight times are subject to change at the airline’s discretion).
