We depart on your direct flight from Dublin to Barcelona. On arrival we will be met by our tour leader and our local tour guide and we will be transferred by coach to our 4* hotel in Lloret de Mar where we will be staying for the next 7 nights. Dinner tonight and every night will be in the hotel.
Barcelona Panoramic Tour. This excursion offers a combination of free exploration in the city centre and a guided tour through key landmarks, providing a well-rounded experience of Barcelona’s culture, history, and scenic beauty. We will have the free time to explore and enjoy the vibrant centre of Barcelona. Your options will be shopping, visiting the Cathedral, exploring the Gothic Quarter, or checking out the Picasso Museum. The second part of the excursion consists of a tour along the main streets of Barcelona, with a stop near the Sagrada Familia. On the drive to the panorama photo stop on Montjïch we pass the Olympic site. We will also stop at the Mirador del Alcalde viewpoint, one of the highest points in the city, to enjoy the view. Afterwards we will visit the Barrio del Borne (district with medieval architecture), where we will walk through the streets until we reach one of the largest parks in the city, La Ciutadella. In the evening we return to our hotel.
We have a free day to relax on the beach or explore Lloret de Mar on your own. Why not take a leisurely stroll along the promenade lined with shops and restaurants or walk up to the Castell d’en Plaja.
Day Trip to Monserrat. In the morning we embark on captivating journey to the multi-peaked mountain of Monserrat. Our adventure begins with a scenic train ride on the Cog railway to the Santa Maria de Monserrat Abbey, a spiritual haven perched amidst the peaks. This abbey is home to one of the most important religious sites in Spain, the revered statue (The Black Madonna), a symbol of profound cultural and religious significance.
Today we will travel to the historic town of Girona, where the traces of its Roman and medieval past coexist with the present, offering an image full of contrasts. Get lost in its labyrinth of alleys and prepare to travel back in time in the best preserved Jewish quarter in Europe, admire the Cathedral with the widest Gothic nave in the world or be surprised by the colourful spectacle of the houses next to the Onyar River, which divides the city in two. It is not in vain that its medieval historic centre was chosen to film scenes from the popular series “Game of Thrones”. In the evening we travel back to the hotel.
We have a free day to relax and enjoy the pool, beach or explore Lloret de Mar.
On this tour we can get to know and admire the works of the great artist Salvador Dali on the one hand in the house-museum-castle Gala Dali in Publo and on the other hand in the theatre-museum in Figueres. Our first stop is the medieval castle which was the residence of the painters wife in the 1970s and his in the 1980s. In 1996 the castle became a house-museum-castle: here you can see the paints and drawings by Dali. After this visit , we will travel to Figueres, where the Salvador Dali Theater Museum is located. It was opened in 1974 and contains a large collection of Dali’s works.
Today after breakfast we travel to Barcelona for our return flight to Dublin.
