Winter Highlights along the Rhine

This 4-night river cruise offers a practical and comfortable way to explore some of the finest historic cities in Germany and France. Your journey begins in Frankfurt, a city where modern architecture sits alongside the traditional buildings of the Römer square. From here, you will board the 5-star Viva Tiara for a journey that highlights the beauty of the Rhine and Main rivers during the cooler months.
One of the main draws of this trip is Speyer, a city that escaped much of the damage seen elsewhere in Germany during the mid-20th century. This means you can walk through a town that feels like a living museum, featuring the massive Speyer Cathedral. This building has stood for nearly a thousand years and is recognised by UNESCO for its architectural importance. It is a straightforward city to explore on foot, allowing you to see the Old City Gate and the historic Jewish Quarter at your own pace.
As you move into France, you will visit Strasbourg, the capital of the Alsace region. This city is famous for its Gothic cathedral and the picturesque Petite France district. The mix of French and German influences is visible in everything from the half-timbered houses to the local food. It is an ideal spot for those who enjoy history and well-preserved European architecture. These Rhine Winter Highlights provide a perfect blend of culture, history, and relaxation, with everything organised to make your trip as straightforward as possible.
Before returning to Frankfurt, the ship stops in Mainz. This city is known for its Roman roots and its connection to Johannes Gutenberg, the inventor of the printing press. You can visit the museum dedicated to his work or simply enjoy the atmosphere of the medieval market squares. Onboard the Viva Tiara, the experience is designed for ease and value. The ship features 76 well-equipped cabins and a wellness area with a sauna. Your package includes return flights from Dublin, transfers, and a full board dining plan. This means you have breakfast, lunch, and multi-course gourmet dinners all included, along with a wide selection of drinks available throughout the day. Gratuities are also taken care of, so there are no surprises at the end of your trip.
