Innsbruck, Rattenberg, Lake Achensee & Salzburg

This 7-night Escorted Tour offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the very best of the Austrian Tyrol during the summer months. Based in the lively mountain town of Mayrhofen, you will be ideally placed to explore some of the most famous sights in the region, including the cities of Innsbruck and Salzburg. This holiday is designed for travellers who appreciate a well-organised trip that combines guided discovery with plenty of time to relax and soak up the local atmosphere at your own pace.
Your home for the week is the Hotel Strolz, a welcoming Tyrolean-style hotel known for its friendly service and excellent facilities. Staying on a half-board basis means your breakfast and evening meals are included, providing great value and making your stay even more relaxing. After a day of exploring, you can make use of the hotel’s spa area, which features an indoor pool, a Finnish sauna, and a steam bath—perfect for unwinding before dinner. The town itself is full of traditional charm, with flower-filled balconies and views of the Ziller Valley peaks providing a beautiful backdrop to your stay.
The itinerary is packed with highlights, including a specific Innsbruck Rattenberg Salzburg focus to ensure you see the region’s cultural gems. You will visit Rattenberg, the smallest city in Austria, which is famous for its historic glass-making traditions. Here, you can watch skilled glass-blowers at work before heading to the serene shores of Lake Achensee, the largest lake in the Tyrol. This area is a haven for those who enjoy the outdoors, with its vast expanse of clear water and lush green hillsides.
A full day in Salzburg is another key part of this tour. Famous as the birthplace of Mozart and the filming location for The Sound of Music, Salzburg’s Baroque old town is a UNESCO World Heritage site that is easily explored on foot. You might choose to visit the Hohensalzburg Fortress or simply enjoy a coffee in one of the historic squares. Later in the week, a trip to Innsbruck introduces you to the capital of the Tyrol. Here, you can admire the famous Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl) in the medieval old town or take a stroll through the Imperial gardens. With a resort manager on hand to look after the details and a perfect mix of culture and scenery, this tour provides a straightforward and enjoyable way to see the Austrian Alps.
