Itinerary
Day 1

Barcelona, Spain

The 1992 Summer Olympics revealed to the world what Europeans and seasoned travelers already knew – Barcelona is one of the world’s greatest treasures. Vibrant and earthy, commercial and cultural, this city of two million residents is the capital of Spain’s autonomous region of Catalonia. Stroll along the wide, tree-lined promenades of Las Ramblas and marvel at the spires of Gaudi’s Basilica La Sagrada Familia. Or visit the former Olympic Ring on the hill of Montjuic – also home to world-class parks, fountains and museums. Barcelona, which nurtured such artistic giants as Picasso, Dali, Miro and Casals, is definitely a traveler’s paradise.

Day 2

Mahon, Menorca, Spain

From the moment Mahon comes into view from the ship, you know you’re in a special place. Perched high atop a cliff, shops, cafes, and restaurants line Mahon’s vibrant streets and are yours to discover. While visiting, be sure to explore the Church of Santa Maria. Here, you’ll find an unbelievable organ—complete with four keyboards and over 3,000 individual pipes—and a lovely municipal market.

Day 3

At Sea

Day 4

Cannes, France

Glamorous Cannes sets camera flashes popping at its film festival in May when stars pose in tuxes and full-length gowns on the red carpet. But the glitz doesn’t end there. Throughout the year, as you walk among the designer bars, couture shops and palaces of La Croisette, the wealth and glamour of this city cannot fail to impress. Admiring Ferraris and Porsches and celebrity-spotting on the chic sunlounger-striped beaches and liner-sized yachts moored at the port are perennial Cannes pastimes.
Whether Cannes’ soul has managed to survive its celebrity-playground status is another question, but there’s still enough natural beauty to make a trip worthwhile: the harbour, the bay, the clutch of offshore islands and the old quarter, Le Suquet, all spring into life on a sunny day. And with the city’s famous beaches benefiting from a serious facelift in 2019, there’s suddenly lots more space to lay your towel!

Day 5

St. Tropez, France

Once a quiet fishing village, modern St. Tropez is the epitome of glamour and luxury associated with the French Riviera. In the picturesque Vieux Port, yachts now often outnumber fishing boats. Soak in the sunshine and charming vistas while strolling along cobblestone streets and perhaps get a glimpse into the lives of the rich and famous. Known for its luxury shopping and vibrant cafes and restaurants, you can enjoy an afternoon of browsing boutiques and savoring fresh local seafood. Or journey outside town to explore the surrounding landscape, which is as rugged and scenic as St. Tropez is luxurious.

Day 6

Alghero, Sardinia, Italy

Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean. Like its neighbor Corsica, Sardinia boasts a dramatic coastline, superb small harbors and beaches that draw visitors from around the world. Gaunt hills crowned with granite outcropping take up most of the island interior, though the landscape is broken by vineyards and groves of olive trees and cork oaks. The island’s harsh beauty is counterpointed by its rich culture – the island boasts extensive prehistoric ruins, fine Pisan churches and medieval walled towns.

For centuries, Italian city-states and Spain vied for control of Sardinia. The old port of Alghero has a distinctive Catalan feel – it was known as “Little Barcelona.” The Albi Palace was a residence for the Spanish viceroys who governed Sardinia.

Alghero is an anchorage port. Passengers transfer to shore via ship’s tender.

Day 7

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

The port of Civitavecchia is one of the largest in Italy. Civitavecchia enjoys a millenary history due to its coves along the coast, which offered a perfect shelter for vessels, making it a natural port long before cruise ships sailed the seas, and in fact the port was known to the Romans as Centumcellae. During your holiday in Civitavecchia you can easily visit its centre on foot. Amongst the most important monuments to visit are the Forte Michelangelo, built by Bramante in the 16th century, the ancient walls of the old port, where there is a fountain in travertine marble by Vanvitelli, and the Rock, an inexpugnable fortress that has been looming over the city and port for over a thousand years.
