Keeping it local
We’ve teamed up with locals in each of our ports to reveal sides of places you’ve yet to explore — from the people who know the destinations best.

Vibrant stained glass, brass, and all that Spanish jazz
Tucked away on the rugged tip of Spain’s northwest corner, La Coruña has metamorphosed into a modern metropolis. Home to one of the oldest lighthouses, discover a maze of cobbled streets, the famed Tower of Hercules, and its main plaza that houses the Statue of María — the 16th-century heroine who warned the town of an English invasion. With a buzzing commercial center, remarkable food scene, and nightlife, you’ll find a coastal hot spot teasing a side of Spain travelers often don’t experience.

Itinerary
Day 1-2

Lisbon, Portugal

Following your flight to Lisbon you will make your way to the hotel for your one night stay. In the morning you will go to the port to board the magnificent 5 star Scarlet Lady.

Grit’n Glam at the end of the (old) world

One of the oldest cities in the world, Lisbon isn’t shy about its long, rich past. Nestled across seven jaw-dropping hills overlooking Rio Tejo, the city boasts ancient ruins, white-domed cathedrals, traditional houses clinging to cobbled alleyways, and breathtaking views from every angle. Its strategic seaside position allowed Portugal to play a massive role in the Age of Discovery and, most importantly, develop a cuisine committed to creating thousands of different ways to cook bacalhau.

Day 3

Leixões (for Oporto), Portugal

A short journey from Leixões takes you into the heart of Oporto, with its fortress-like Cathedral and the Baroque Church of Clérigos. Head to the historic Ribeira District, where the narrow, cobbled lanes wind their way down to the Douro River. Don’t forget to visit one of the many wine cellars for a taste of the tipple named after the city, Port. On the ground floor of the Museu Romantico is the Port Wine Institute, where port is served with great ceremony.

Oporto sits deep in the gorge of the River Douro and on the riverside – dominated by the two-level Luis I bridge – it’s possible to look up at the narrow old town streets climbing out of the valley. Pastel-fronted houses with red-tiled roofs line the streets, mixed with neo-classical buildings and wonderful baroque churches. Dominating the centre of the city is the fortress-like Cathedral, which is worth visiting for the views alone.

Day 5

La Coruña, Spain

Glass, brass, and all that jazz

Tucked away on the tip of the autonomous district of Galicia and set on the rugged northwestern corner of Spain, La Coruña is a historic town metamorphosed into a pulsing modern metropolis. Home to the oldest lighthouse still in operation, a medieval village of mazed cobbled streets, and a plaza named after a local woman who defended the town against an English invasion, La Coruña is an eclectic cultural hub waiting to be explored.

Day 7

Portsmouth, England

Your cruise ends as you sail into Portsmouth. You will make your way to Southampton airport for your flight back to Dublin.
