Lerwick, nestled in the Shetland Isles, whispers tales of Vikings and Scottish history. Take leisurely walks through its winding streets, learn the history of lighthouse-keeping at Bressay Lighthouse, and breathe in the salty North Atlantic breezes atop the Knab promontory.

Ambition will carry up to 1,200 passengers to give her a true sense of comfort and space in her 714 cabins, 125 of which have balconies and 113 are suites with up to 62m2 of living space.

Her dining options will inspire you with two main restaurants, speciality dining options*, and a more casual bistro style café. Sit back, relax and enjoy a drink in one of her four bars, lounges and pub. Or take in a show in the a tiered main theatre, or discover your hidden talents casino, card room, library, and craft studio.

Other facilities include the wellness centre, gym, two swimming pools and a range of retail shops, perfect for days at sea.

Dining options really will spoil you for choice, especially at Buckingham restaurant and Holyrood, our two main dining rooms. We also have Borough Market, our more casual dining choice with delicious and ever-changing delicacies from around the world. For those wanting to give their taste buds an extra tingle, we have our speciality restaurants Saffron* and Olympic Taverna* offering exceptional gastronomic experiences.

Ambition offers a range of cabins spanning six accommodation decks from the Reception Deck 5 up to the Sun Deck 12. We have 21 twin and single cabin categories to suit a wide range of preferences and pockets. Our cabins are generally more spacious and cater to today’s climate, averaging 15-16 square meters, with cabin types broadly classified as standard, superior, premium, or de-luxe. Our dedicated housekeeping team clean cabins once a day with an evening turn down service and provide 24-hour room service at a supplementary cost. All our cabins are air-conditioned with ensuite facilities including a shower and ample storage space with room under the beds to store suitcases.

All cabins have a range of impressive amenities and personal touches. Liverpool is heaven for sport and music lovers, and it also happens to host the UK’s largest collection of museums and galleries outside London. Visit iconic Beatles sites like Penny Lane.

Lerwick, Shetland Islands, Scotland

The small and charming capital of the Shetland Islands, with its sea front of old houses and narrow streets, offering travellers its old districts and a warm port atmosphere. Geopark Shetland, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located to the north. Incredibly well-preserved archaeological sites and ruins prove that the islands’ occupation dates back to the first Neolithic colonies. The Shetland Museum and Archives recounts the Shetlands’ history of heritage and culture: Lerwick’s abundant waters were even fished by the Dutch in the past.

Andalsnes (cruise Romsdalsfjord), Norway

Nestled amidst majestic Norwegian landscapes, Andalsnes captivates with its subtle grandeur. Fjords, mountains, and lush valleys create a breathtaking backdrop for exploration and reconnecting with nature.

Romsdalsfjord or Romsdal Fjord is the ninth-longest fjord in Norway at 88 kilometres long.

Geiranger, Norway

Nothing quite prepares you for the jaw-dropping vistas of Geiranger. See it all from a viewpoint overlooking Norway’s famous Seven Sisters waterfall, or from a kayak on the crystal waters.

Bergen, Norway

Haakon’s Hall fortress stands guard over this classic Norwegian port. Seeking stunning vistas? Ascend the 1,000ft Mt. Fløyen in just minutes by funicular railway and toast the views with a beer.

Day 9

Eidfjord, Norway

Lying at the end of a tributary of the beautiful Hardangerfjord, Eidfjord is surrounded by mountains up to 1,900 metres high. The small town is the gateway to Hardangervidda, which is the largest high mountain plateau in Europe and Norway’s largest national park. A short walk from the village centre there are graves by the roadside dating back to the Iron Age and Viking eras. The ‘old’ church in Eidfjord was built in 1309. Nearby the stunning Vøringfossen waterfall is one of Norway’s most popular natural attractions and features in optional excursions along with the amazing Sysen Dam.

Invergordon, Scotland

Situated on the shores of the deep Cromarty Firth and with a fine natural harbour, Invergordon is a key port with an important naval history stretching back through two World Wars. The small, yet modern town is a charming coastal gateway to the beautiful Scottish Highlands and the incredible scenery that forms a stunning backdrop to the romantic castles and historic battlefields featuring in optional excursions along with the ‘Capital of the Highlands’ Inverness. Other popular options include the Glenmorangie Distillery and a visit to haunting Loch Ness with its legendary monster.
